Takeshita just finished a breakout campaign in his first entry into the prestigious G1 Climax in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he recently had his third 5-Star Match of his career, against fellow MAPLE LEAF PRO star El Phantasmo!

MAPLE LEAF PRO is proud to announce that iconic Canadian combat sports announcer Mauro Ranallo is going to be the Voice of MAPLE LEAF PRO!
Mauro’s broadcasting career began in Western Canada with two of Canada’s legendary promotions, All-Star Wrestling in Vancouver and Stampede Wrestling in Calgary. He then moved on to announce for almost every major MMA promotion including PRIDE FC, Strikeforce and Bellator as well as being the voice of many of the biggest boxing events over the last few decades.
To pro-wrestling fans, of course, Mauro is known as being the voice of New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2015-2016 and for his four years as the lead announcer for NXT and SmackDown! in WWE.
The only match this life-long pro-wrestling fans has called since leaving WWE in 2020 was a one-off as play-by-play for AEW’s Kenny Omega vs TNA’s Rich Swann at TNA Rebellion in 2021.

Sheldon Jean is a graduate of the Can-Am Wrestling School in Windsor, Ontario and has been a long-time member of Border City Wrestling. In 2017, he spent the fall working in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he was part of a tag team with Cody Hall, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall. He appeared on the eighth season of Big Brother Canada as a contestant in 2019 and 2020, but the season ended early due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He spent the bulk of 2023 as a part of TNA Wrestling, where he worked alongside former X-Division Champion Kenny King.
Sheldon Jean will be looking for bigger opportunities on October 19 and 20, when he returns to St. Clair College for MAPLE LEAF PRO’s inaugural two-night event, Forged in Excellence!

Following the break-up of the Dudley Boyz, Bully Ray emerged as a main event singles threat, capturing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice in 2013. A world-class performer and student of pro wrestling legends The Hardy Boyz, Trevor Lee had a successful run with TNA Wrestling from 2015 to 2019 that saw him capture the TNA X-Division Championship on three occasions, while also leading his own stable, The Cult of Lee. In 2019, he joined WWE, where he joined the NXT brand as Cameron Grimes. Over the next few years, Grimes would become a fan favourite on the Yellow and Gold and held the NXT North American Championship in 2022. In early 2024, he made his debut on the SmackDown brand.

Since 2018, he has been a part of TNA Wrestling as Champagne/Campaign Singh.

He briefly competed for the WWE on the NXT brand, where he captured the NXT Cruiserweight title in 2021, and has since returned to NJPW as well as adding TNA Wrestling into the mix. Rocky Romero is a legend with New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he’s been an instrumental part of the CHAOS stable since 2010. A veteran of New Japan since 2002, Romero is one of New Japan’s most decorated grapplers of the past twenty years, where he’s an eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, winning multiple times as a member of No Remorse Corps (with Davey Richards), Forever Hooligans (with Alex Koslov), and Roppongi Vice (with Trent Beretta). As Black Tiger, he’s also a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. Rocky Romero has made countless appearances for other promotions as well in his illustrious career, including Ring of Honor (where he’s a former 3x ROH World Tag Team Champion), Major League Wrestling (where he’s a former World Middleweight Champion), All Elite Wrestling (where he recently joined the stable, The Conglomeration), TNA Wrestling, and the NWA (holding the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship in 2005). Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, “The Jet” Kevin Knight started in the U.S. indie scene before joining the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) Dojo in Los Angeles in 2020, and soon became a roster member for NJPW STRONG. He’s since transitioned to the main roster for New Japan, where he teams with KUSHIDA in the Intergalactic Jet Setters, winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles in 2023. He’s also an outstanding singles competitor, having competed in New Japan’s prestigious Best of the Super Juniors in 2023 and 2024.

A rising force in the Canadian wrestling scene, Aurora Teves is a student of Santino Marella and the BattleArts Academy in Toronto. From 2021 to 2023, she spent the majority of her time working in the explosive British wrestling circuit, working for the likes of Pro Wrestling EVE, ICW in Scotland, and others, before returning to Canada. She closed out 2023 as a part of the Women of Wrestling TV show, where she competed as Kara Kai in the tag team The Dojo Defenders with Tara Strike. She’s spent this year competing in the Canadian indies with the likes of Border City Wrestling and the Hart Family’s Dungeon Wrestling.

Originally hailing from Australia, Harley Cameron was originally trained by Canadian wrestlers Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze, before making appearances for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) starting in 2022. In the past year, she has aligned herself with Saraya Knight (former WWE Superstar Paige) in her battles in the AEW Women’s Division, where she’s faced against top names like Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Toni Storm, and Mariah May.

Johnny Swinger is a veteran who has a world class resume including stints with ECW, WWE, WCW, and TNA Wrestling, where he held the NWA World Tag Team Championship alongside his ECW partner, Simon Diamond. Apart from having his own 30-year career in the wrestling industry, he was mentored early by a legend of the original Maple Leaf Wrestling in his uncle, former WWWF World Tag Team Champion “Cannonball” Tony Parisi.
It’s going to be “Swing Time” in Windsor, Ontario at MLP Forged In Excellence, as Johnny Swinger joins the action on October 19 and 20.
MAPLE LEAF PRO is proud to announce former WWE World Champion “The Maharaja” Raj Dhesi is coming to Forged in Excellence at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario!
Raj Dhesi may be a new moniker for the man formerly known to the WWE Universe as Jinder Mahal, but he’s bringing the same intensity he’s always had when he arrives in Windsor, Ontario! Originally from Calgary, Alberta and starting out with Stampede Wrestling, as Jinder Mahal he was a WWE Superstar from 2011 until this past year, where he won the WWE World Championship from Randy Orton in 2017. He held the title for 170 days, and also captured the WWE United States Championship in 2018. Since his departure from the WWE, he’s not resting on his laurels, and has since made his Mexico debut with AAA Lucha Libre, where he’s one half of the AAA World Tag Team Champions with AEW’s Satnam Singh.
The Maharaja is heading to Windsor for October 19 and 20 to make his own mark in MAPLE LEAF PRO, when he steps in the ring at Forged in Excellence!
